President's Award for Distinguished Teaching - 2026

About Miranda Rodak

Miranda Yaggi Rodak is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Director of Communication and Professional Skills at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. She teaches strategic business writing and designs learning environments at every level — undergraduate, MBA, and faculty alike. A member of IU's Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching, she has earned eight teaching awards, three this past year alone: tonight's President's Award for Distinguished Teaching, a FACET Innovate Award, and the national Association for Business Communication Award for Innovative Teaching with Technology. Earlier honors include an IU Trustees Teaching Award, a Kelley School Innovation Award, and a Campus Partner Award from the Groups Scholars Program for her sustained commitment to first-generation student success.

Dr. Rodak is an active scholar of teaching and learning, with eight published articles and chapters, a co-edited collection on AI and writing, and three more works on the way. Her research is empirically grounded, with four teaching grants and four IRB-approved studies. Her work reaches well beyond IU. She is a regular guest on teaching-focused podcasts, including a recent episode on WFIU, an NPR member station, and an invited workshop and webinar facilitator for universities including Winston-Salem State and Queens University of Charlotte.

Before rejoining Kelley, Dr. Rodak served as Director of Undergraduate Teaching in IUB's College of Arts and Sciences and Director of the IU Mosaic Active Learning Program. Her teaching has spanned three programs and two schools, reaching well over 3,000 students across 14 years — and, through their careers and lives, many thousands more.
