Motivated by a close friend’s experience with the disease, Frederick and Ellen Boso have become dedicated advocates for early detection of pancreatic cancer, focusing their generosity on Dr. Max Schmidt’s pioneering work at the Pancreatic Cyst and Cancer Early Detection Center. Their commitment reflects a deep belief in the power of research to change and save lives. Ellen, who earned her master’s degree in education from IU, carries a strong connection to the university and is proud to help advance work that brings hope to patients and families. Together, the Boso family embodies compassion in action, using their philanthropy to fuel discovery and improve care. We are grateful for their vision, their kindness, and the profound impact they are helping create at Indiana University.
