Lacy and Patty Johnson have dedicated their lives to expanding opportunity at Indiana University. A graduate of the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Lacy has maintained an enduring connection to IU through decades of volunteer leadership and philanthropy—a commitment he shares with Patty.
Lacy admirably dedicated 16 years of service as an Indiana University Foundation Director. Beyond Lacy’s invaluable contributions to the board, he played pivotal roles as a founding member of the Black Philanthropy Circle and the Queer Philanthropy Circle. His and Patty’s efforts have been instrumental in highlighting and nurturing the ever-growing significance of diversity in fundraising and volunteerism for the university. These contributions have positioned Indiana University to continue to serve students, faculty, and alumni for years to come. Recognized with the IU Foundation Cornerstone Award and the McKinney School of Law Distinguished Alumni Award—among numerous others—only begins to exemplify the profound and lasting impact this couple has had on Indiana University.
We are grateful for their vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to ensuring Indiana University is a place where all can thrive.
