Scott Jones and the companies he has built have made significant contributions to technology worldwide. In 1986, Mr. Jones co-founded and chaired until 1992 his first company, Boston Technology, Inc. (BT). Using his patented voice-messaging technologies, BT became very successful and later merged with Comverse Technologies (NASDAQ: CMVT), resulting in a multi-billion-dollar company whose products continue to rely on Mr. Jones' patented technologies. Those products are used by the majority of telephone companies throughout the world.

Today, at the helm of Escient Technologies, LLC, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Mr. Jones applies his technological savvy and business acumen toward the realization of a parallel vision - merging Internet power with electronic appliances and devices. He oversees all corporate activities at Escient Technologies and its companies. He co-founded the company in 1996.

A visionary for Indiana, Mr. Jones is Chairman of the Indiana Technology Partnership, Chairman of the Gazelle Fund, Chairman of GrowIndiana Media Ventures, and a director on the boards of the state-funded 21st Century Fund and the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership. Through such activities, he plans to establish Indiana as a nationally recognized high-technology region.

Mr. Jones also serves on the boards of Art Technology Group, UNX, and various community organizations, such as the Indianapolis Zoo and The Children's Museum. His charitable foundation makes significant contributions to worthy causes that include local schools and technology efforts.

Escient Technologies, LLC, is a high technology accelerator and management company that channels promising new technologies into strategic positions in the marketplace. One affiliate, Gracenote, formerly CDDB, Inc., is a powerhouse in the exploding field of digitally downloaded music and features the world's largest and most comprehensive CD database on the Internet. Escient Technologies' other companies offer a variety of cutting-edge, user-friendly products and services for home entertainment, data storage, and the Internet, often merging Internet power with electronic appliances and devices.
