BIOGRAPHYPaul K. Rainsberger received a B.A. in political science from Ohio State University, and earned a J.D. from Indiana University's School of Law. Rainsberger served as an attorney with the Indiana State Employees Association, an affiliate of the American Federation of Teachers, before serving for eighteen years as part of the Division of Labor Studies faculty at Indiana University.
Leaving I.U., Rainsberger became an Associate Professor of extension education at Missouri University. His courses subjects include labor and employment law, workers' compensation, grievance representation and arbitration, and collective bargaining. His research focuses on industrial relations policies and trends in the automotive/construction industries and in the public sector. Rainsberger was also appointed the Director of the University of Missouri-Columbia Labor Education Program in 1997. As director, Rainsberger is responsible for all continuing labor education activities of the Columbia campus, and works with unions to serve the educational needs of workers during political and economic change, as well as administratively representing the Columbia campus.
Rainsberger is a member of the University Continuing Education Association, the University and College Labor Education Association, the Industrial Relation's Research Association, CWA Workers' Education Local 189 and the Missouri Federation of Teachers. He has received university awards for excellence in teaching and distinguished service.
