BIOGRAPHYBruce L. Jaffee holds senior administrative posts with the Kelley School's Institute for International Business and its CIBER, funded by the U.S. Department of Education. He was previously chair of his department and head of the School's doctoral programs and its associate dean - academics. He is currently the university's faculty athletic representative. He has an A.B. degree from Brown University and an M.A. and Ph.D. (with distinction) from Johns Hopkins University. In 1981 and again in 1990 he taught at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology.
He has given lectures on economic and business topics in China, Croatia, Russia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary. From 1995-99 he served as project director for a USAID program with Corvinus University to offer executive education programs in Hungary, and has an honorary degree from that university. He is currently academic director for an English language MBA program in Croatia that was originally funded by the U.S. State Department. He is the principle investigator for a USAID supported program to improve entrepreneurial education in Barbados.
He is the author of numerous articles and reports in the fields of industry regulation, energy policy, taxation, and economic impact. In the last area he has focused on the economic impact of various sports events, both domestically and abroad.
