D. Paul LaCount was a dentist based in Valparaiso, IN. He received the Honorary Member Award from IUSD in 1986. LaCount maintained a private practice from 1948 to 1990.

LaCount completed a pre-dental program at Valparaiso University in 1943, and graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a dentist in 1946 to 1948. He was instrumental in the local dental community, organizing the Porter County Dental Study Club, in which he established dental examination and assistant training programs. LaCount also was in the Porter County Dental Society, which led the effort in the fluoridation of the Valparaiso water supply.
