Richard K. Jantz

Richard K. Jantz was born October 8, 1940, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to the late John and Mary Tumbleson Jantz. He was a graduate of Central High School in Fort Wayne, class of 1958. After attending George Williams College for a year, he joined the Army from 1960 to 1963. To further his career, he went to Indiana University and received a bachelor's degree and master's degree in 1970. He then went to Ball State University in Indiana and received a Doctorate of Education in 1972.

Dr. Jantz worked for the University of Maryland as a professor of education. He was a retired professor in emeritus, associate dean for teacher education and an associate dean for student dervices. He married Eun Sook Choi on Oct. 11, 1991. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, eating Ft. Wayne Coney Island hot dogs and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Jantz died Friday, May 25, 2012, at University of Maryland in Baltimore. He was 71.
