Paul N. Selking

IPFW Distinguished Service Award (2009)

A.A.S., 1992; B.S., 1993

Paul N. Selking graduated from IPFW with an A.A.S. in 1992 and a B.S. in 1993 in mechanical engineering technology. While a student, he was involved in the Cooperative Education program, at GE Motors in Fort Wayne. At GE, he completed five assignments and implemented a résumé software program. When he was not active in thisco-op assignment, he did work-study in the IPFW co-op office.

Selking was hired by GE into its supplier quality unit and became a certified Six Sigma Black Belt before taking a quality manager position at the plant. During his employment at GE and in his current role as the Regal-Beloit Corporation's HVAC industry leader, Selking has served as a manager of numerous co-op students.

Selking remains a staunch supporter and advocate of IPFW's co-op program, often returning to campus to speak to classes or at student events, such as career fairs and Co-op Corner, to share the value of learning experiences outside of the classroom. He was the recipient of IPFW's 2009 Distinguished Alumni Service Award.
