BIOGRAPHY

Tommy L. Franke is a three-time graduate of IPFW, having earned a B.S. in 1984, a M.S. 1988, and a certificate/administrator's license in 2005 in elementary education. As a student, Franke also served as the editor of the campus newspaper, The Communicator, in 1971 and again in 1973.

Franke has taught in Fort Wayne's Lutheran school system since 1984 and currently serves as the principal of Ascension Lutheran School.

She has gathered several accolades for her commitment to the university, including charter membership in Kappa Delta Pi, the honorary education society, an IPFW Student Leadership Award in 1983, IPFW graduating class speaker in 1984, the IPFW Student Teacher Award in 1984, the IPFW Distinguished Education Alumna Award in 1990, and IPFW's Honorary Lifetime Alumni Board Membership in 2010.

Franke is married to Mark Franke, IPFW's associate vice chancellor for enrollment management, for 37 years.
