Kent won basketball letters in 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977 and was captain in '77. He was three-time All-Big Ten pick and league MVP in 1977. Kent was two-time All American selection and academic All-Big Ten and All-American for two years. He was named outstanding player in 1976 NCAA Final Four, when Hoosiers won their third national championship, had career totals of 1,740 points and 1,031 rebounds. Kent played in the NBA for 11 years.
