Gene Gedman

Gene won football letters in 1950, 1951, 1952; team captain in 1952. He was Indiana's Most Valuable Player in both 1951 and 1952. Gene was First Team All-Big Ten in 1952, and at one time held IU game, season and career records in rushing. Gene still ranks 10th on career rushing list; 16th on season list. His 187 yards against Pittsburgh in 1951 was a record for 25 years. He also held game, season and career records for rushes. Gene played in the East-West game in 1952. Gene played professionally with Detroit and was on an NFL championship team.
