Mike won basketball letters in 1977, 1978, 1979 and 1980 and was captain in 1979, co-captain in 1980. He was Indiana's Most Valuable Player in 1979 and 1980, and Big Ten MVP in 1980 despite mid-season back surgery. Mike led Hoosiers to Big Ten title in 1980 and was first team Helms Foundation All-American in 1979 and third team coaches All-American in 1980. He led IU in scoring in 1977, 1978 and 1979 and ranks third on career scoring list with 2,062 points. Mike averaged 19.8 points over his career and has third leading game point total with 48 against Illinois in 1979. Mike played in the NBA for many years.
