BIOGRAPHYMonika H. Kroener is president of Crown Management Bloomington, Inc. After she founded the company in 1979, it developed into a diversified international consulting firm, specializing in strategic and marketing analysis, economic development, and real estate investments and management. Most particularly, the company provides services to small and medium sized European companies wanting to enter or expand in the United States, but it also assists US firms in European activities.
In addition, Ms. Kroener has a wide range of management experiences as vice Chair and Director of the Indiana University International Business Forum, an international executive roundtable and network; Vice Chair of the Bloomington Public Transportation Corporation, as the mayor appointee; and President of the USA International Harp Competition, one of two premier such competitions in the world. Prior to her involvement with Crown Management, Ms. Kroener founded and managed Charter Travel Agency, a national niche air-consolidator that developed into a leading full range travel provider.
Most recently Dr. Kroener initiated the Indiana International Management Institute, which she now chairs. The principal focus of the Institute is to provide advanced international business education to managers of small and medium sized companies. These programs are offered in cooperation with European Business Schools. They are designed to provide an insight into current American management thought and practice through short intensive MBA-level curricula. Ms. Kroener's educational outreach includes also the Directorship of the "American Information and Management Center" as part of the global network of institutes under the umbrella of the Steinbeis Foundation and Steinbeis University Berlin, Germany.
Ms. Kroener holds doctorate and M.B.A. degrees from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, where she has also taught Marketing Management. Before coming to the United States, she studied Economics at the University of Basel, Switzerland and the Free University of Berlin, Germany. She is a member of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Dean's Global Advisory Council, and is serving for more than 20 years on the Global Advisory Board of the Thunderbird School of International Management in Glendale, Arizona. For many years she has been a member of the Indiana University Foundation Board's International Committee, and the Board of the St. Galler Business School. At Indiana University she is also the president of the Jacobs School's Emeritus Board of the Friends of Music, and a member of the Board of the Society of the Institute for Advanced Study. Since 1990 Ms. Kroener is a Rotarian. She is a member of the American Council on Germany.
