BIOGRAPHYArthur DeCabooter was the president of Scottsdale Community College for thirty years, serving from 1978 until his retirement in 2008. He was also an associate faculty member in higher education at Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University. He received both a master's degree in education and a doctorate in higher education from the IU School of Education.
Before his presidency, DeCabooter served in administrative posts at colleges in Oklahoma and Illinois. He is the former president of the Arizona Community College Presidents' Council and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix, and he is a board member of the National Catholic Education Association. For 20 years he was an evaluator for the North Central Association's Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. His community activities with more than 40 organizations include the Boy Scouts, who honored him with the 1989 Distinguished Citizen of the Year award in Scottsdale, AZ.
