BIOGRAPHY

Bill Stephan serves as IU's vice president for government relations and economic engagement. Stephan holds a B.S. in economics from Arizona State University and a J.D. from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law. Stephan is responsible for coordinating and connecting the university's vast intellectual and creative resources with strategic opportunities that foster Indiana's economic growth. An Indiana native, Stephan joined the IU administration in 2000 and oversees all of the university's functions linked to economic engagement and federal relations.

Stephan received the IU Bicentennial Medal in August 2019 in recognition of his distinguished service as vice president for government relations and economic engagement at Indiana University.
