Gene E. Wilkins was the first person in his family to attend college, graduating with a bachelor's degree from IU in 1954. After earning his law degree from the Maurer School of Law, he moved with his wife, Patty, to Indianapolis, where he practiced for more than 35 years at Bamberger & Feibleman. He finished his legal career as senior counsel at Ice Miller. He has served in leadership roles on several arts organizations in Indianapolis.
