BIOGRAPHYJamie Darin Prenkert is an Associate Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs for the Bloomington campus, as well as an Arthur M. Weimer Faculty Fellow and Professor of Business Law. His research focuses on employment discrimination and whistleblowing, as well as business and human rights. His areas of expertise are Employment Discrimination (race, sex, and disabilities), Workplace Harassment, Retaliation Issues, Business and Human Rights, and Religion and the Workplace. Prenkert's research has appeared in the North Carolina Law Review, the American Business Law Journal, the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Law, and the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law, among others.
Prenkert co-edited "Law, Business, and Human Rights: Bridging the Gap," a volume for Elgar Press, and was the Editor in Chief of volume 49 of the American Business Law Journal. Along with several of his colleagues in the Department of Business Law & Ethics, he is author of a leading business law/legal studies textbook, Business Law: The Ethical, Global, and E-Commerce Environment. Prenkert has extensive experience facilitating short-term study abroad experiences with undergraduate students to South Africa, India, and Ghana.
Prenkert earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School and a B.A., summa cum laude with honors in Political Science, from Anderson University. Prior to joining the Kelley School of Business faculty, he was a senior trial attorney for the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He also practiced with the law firm of Baker & Daniels (now Faegre Baker Daniels).
