BIOGRAPHYSince 1977, Francois B. Delachaux has been president and chairman of the board of the Delachaux Group in Gennevilliers, France. The Delachaux Group includes 22 subsidiaries and employs 1,300 people. Mr. Delachaux also serves as chairman for Insul 8 Corporation-USA, Delachaux Corporation-USA, Industrial Electrical Reels-USA, Delachaux Metal, Inc.-USA, Insul 8 Limited-Great Britain, Delachaux EEM, and Sofint-Italy. He is a member of the board for Alfex-Canada, Insul 8-Australia, Calomex-Mexico, LMRFrance, and Railtech International-France.
Mr. Delachaux started his career with Timken Company in France. From 1964 to 1973, he held a variety of positions, including transportation manager, export-import manager, inventory manager, and general services manager. In 1973 he was named president of the Delachaux Company.
A 1963 graduate of Indiana University with a Master of Business Administration degree, Mr. Delachaux maintains his ties to IU as a member of the university's International Committee and the Dean's Advisory Council for the School of Business. He is also active in the IU International Business Forum.
Mr. Delachaux is honorary president of the Employers Federation in France, chairman of the Regional Employers Federation in Paris and surrounding areas, chairman of the Regional Federation of Interprofessional Social Housing, and vice chairman of the Interprofessional Central Office for Housing. He also serves on committees and boards of several French organizations, including a research and study center for business executives, a business school in Paris, an association promoting private higher education, and a national housing federation. He was formerly vice president of the Mechanical Employers Union of Haut-Rhin, a judge at the Tribunal of Social Affairs of Nanterro, chairman of a commission for higher education, chairman of the Colmar Airclub, and secretary-treasurer of the Colmar Theatre Association. He has also been a board member for Haut-Rhin Retirement Funds, Societe Generale Bank, Gennevilliers Hospital, the European Foundation for Management Development, and the National Foundation for Management Education in France.
His many activities and contributions earned Mr. Delachaux the distinction of being named a member of the French National Order of Merit in 1988. Mr. Delachaux makes his home in Cergy, France. He and his wife, Dominique, are the parents of three children.
