Submitting a Nomination
The deadline for submitting John W. Ryan Award for Distinguished Contributions to International Programs and Studies for nomination dossiers for consideration in the 2017-2018 academic year is October 16, 2017. The nomination dossier, with full supporting evidence, should be submitted online (log in with your IU username and pass phrase) on or before that date.

The committee solicits nominations from all Indiana University campuses, reviews the nominees' credentials, and selects recipients based on the following criteria:
- Exceptional contributions in international teaching, research, service, and engagement conducted over a period of many years. Such contributions must have been influential in the university's international academic programs, collaborative endeavors, and/or research initiatives.
- Exceptional contributions that have had a sustained impact on the students and faculty of Indiana University. Such contributions should be comprehensive in nature and demonstrate the depth of the candidate's commitment to the university's international mission.
- Nominees must be tenure-line, full-time faculty members.
- Nominations by faculty colleagues, chairs, deans, and university administrators are all accepted.
