Robert A. Coons is the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind. In 2012, Coons served Rose-Hulman as the interim president. He first joined the university in 1989, working various finance and management-level positions before being promoted to his current position in 2005.
Coons also serves as the vice president of the Indiana Risk Management Board of Trustees, a member of the UAP Clinic, LLC Board of Managers and a member of the Indiana TechPoint Board of Directors. His experience includes roles as a past president of the Indiana Association of College and University Business Officers and has held various committee appointments on the Central Association of College and University Business Officers during his tenure. Coons is a past treasurer and Finance Committee Chair of the United Way of the Wabash Valley, a past president of Vigo County Lifeline, and is a graduate of Leadership Terre Haute.
Coons was a recipient of the Rose-Hulman President's Outstanding Service Award in 2010 and the IU East Distinguished Alumni Award in 2013. He holds a MBA from Indiana State University, a CPA from North Carolina, a bachelor's degree in business from Indiana University; and is a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Education Institute for Education Management.
