University Honors and Awards is an initiative by the Office of the President to identify and commemorate the achievements of those affiliated with Indiana University. This website is a public catalogue of that legacy. It is continuously updated as awards are bestowed and more information about awardees becomes available.

Being acknowledged by the university is a high honor for award recipients, and the appreciation shown by a nominating colleague is deeply felt.
7 IU faculty members named 2024 AAAS Fellows
The American Association for the Advancement of Science, one of the world's largest general scientific societies and publisher of the Science family of journals, has named seven Indiana University faculty members to its 2024 fellows' class, a lifetime honor within the scientific community.
4 faculty members named Distinguished Professors
Indiana University has named four faculty members as Distinguished Professors, the most prestigious appointment offered to honor faculty whose outstanding scholarship, artistic or literary distinction, or other achievements have won significant recognition by peers.
Teaching and service award honorees
Indiana University is recognizing seven faculty members and one doctoral student this year for their demonstrated excellence in teaching and service. The 2025 University Teaching and Service Awards honorees represent IU Bloomington, IU Indianapolis, IU South Bend and IU Kokomo.
