Nominators are responsible for submitting the nomination and often coordinate the preparation of the dossier. In most cases, nominators are vice provosts, vice chancellors, deans, or department chairs, but they are not required to have those roles. Nominators may have designees who work on their behalf to submit and coordinate the nomination.
Nominators are encouraged to take these steps:
- Review the awards and their eligibility and nomination requirements.
- Identify a nominee for an award.
- Review the specific nomination form and dossier requirements for the award for which you are submitting a nomination.
- Reach out the University Honors and Awards staff at uha@indiana.edu with questions and request sample dossiers, as needed.
In many cases, nominees work with their nominator to prepare the dossier submitted with the nomination. Sometimes an individual who would like to be a nominee asks another individual to serve as their nominator.
