About Edward C. Von Tress

Edward C. Von Tress, born in 1899, was a 1921 Indiana University alumnus. Edward played an important role when he returned to Indiana University in 1923; he became Alumni Secretary. Of central importance to this position was the Memorial Fund, a financial drive for pledges from both students and alumni. This fund, and Von Tress's activities for the fund, were directly related to creating a truly great institution at Indiana University.
