Dr. Sputh graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1966. After college, he spent three years in the Navy as a Line Officer working on the staff of an Admiral. The following three years were spent in sales and sales management for Proctor and Gamble.
Dr. Sputh attended Indiana University School of Dentistry, graduating with honors and receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1977. The following two years were spent at Indiana University School of Dentistry, receiving specialized training in Orthodontics. Dr. Sputh completed a Master’s Thesis and, in 1979, received a Master of Sciences degree in Dentistry and a Certificate of Orthodontics. Since 1979, Dr. Sputh has been in the private practice of Orthodontics in Lafayette, Indiana.
Dr. Sputh has served as President of the West Central Dental Society and the Indiana University School of Dentistry Alumni Association. He has sat on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers and Big Sisters as well as the Tippecanoe County Historical Association. Dr. Sputh is past-chair of the Dental division of the local United Way campaign.
Dr. Sputh is a member of: American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Indiana Association of Orthodontists, Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, Indiana University School of Dentistry Alumni Association, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society, American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists and Hoosier Orthodontic Forum.
