- Z.G. Clevenger Award - 2012
Joe Ford won three letters in football for the Hoosiers, playing outside linebacker and earning his bachelor’s degree in business. He is a recipient of the Al Barsch Memorial “Hang Tough” Award, given for battling through adversity. Ford lists among his IU football highlights intercepting a pass against Louisville in a 1985 game that proved to be coach Bill Mallory’s 100th career victory.
Ford’s Hoosier loyalty has carried on long after his football playing days. He has served in leadership positions with the IU Varsity Club and the Well House Society. He was inducted into the Presidents Circle in 2007, and in 2012 was a recipient of the Z.G. Clevenger Award. A youth football coach, Ford worked for several years at Ashland Chemical and then co-founded Harris & Ford LLC.
