About Arndt Schimmelmann

Arndt Schmmelmann is a senior scientist in the IU Bloomington College of Arts and Sciences' Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. He is a 1979 graduate of Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany, and received his PhD from University of California at Los Angeles in 1985.

As a result of his Fulbright Award in 2018, he will travel to Slovenia to work with scientists to develop new standards to help forensically detect the origin and quality of certain foods, such as honey and olive oil. These standards will be developed and distributed globally by IU, the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria, and other partner institutions.
