Nomination Letter
The nomination letter should address:
- The nominee’s most relevant and impressive teaching qualifications, qualities, and activities.
- Specific examples of how the nominee has advanced student learning through technology, including related scholarly and leadership activities
Preferably, the letter is from the respective department chair, dean, or vice chancellor or provost of academic affairs.
There should be no more than 1 nomination letter and it should not exceed 2 pages.
Nominee Statement
The nominee statement should address:
- The nominee’s teaching philosophy as it relates to the use of technology and how this philosophy is employed
- The nominee’s purposeful pursuits to assess the impact of these activities as well as approaches to student learning, motivation, and creativity
- How the results of those assessments relate to the nominee’s teaching
- How the nominee embraces a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences to enrich the our community and drive innovation through teaching.
The nominee statement should be 5-8 pages, double-spaced.
Curriculum Vitae (CV)
The curriculum vitae should be:
- Current
- Focused on teaching
Courses Taught
The list of courses taught should address:
- Dates
- Enrollments
- Level (e.g., lower-level undergraduate, upper-level undergraduate, graduate)
- Modality of delivery (e.g., in person, hybrid, online)
Course Syllabi Samples and Summary
The syllabi should be:
- Representative of how the nominee has incorporated technology into their teaching
The summary should address:
- How the nominee’s implementation and uses of technology relate to course goals and/or student learning outcomes for each respective sample
There should be no more than 2 sample syllabi. The summary should be no more than 1 page, double-spaced.
Course Evaluation Summary and Reflection
The summary should address:
- A sample of recent classes that significantly incorporated technology to enhance teaching and student learning
- Qualitative student feedback and other sources of information
The reflection should address:
- The evaluation data and student ratings in the context of the nominee’s goals, success, and growth in the use of technology
The summary should include all student comments for the selected sample. The reflection should be no more than 1 page, double-spaced.
Peer/Administrative Review Portfolio
The peer/administrative review portfolio should address:
- The nominee’s teaching or their broader impact
- If applicable, the influence of the nominee’s work regarding the use of technology in teaching and learning on other departmental offerings and on the curriculum
There should be 1-3 evaluations from internal or external, peer or administrative, unsolicited or solicited sources.
Additional Supporting Materials
These materials may include specific evidence of:
- Invitations to be a guest speaker in an area of expertise
- Leadership in curriculum or course development
- Representative publications bearing on the use of technology in teaching and learning
- Sustained contributions to a body of knowledge regarding using technology in teaching and learning
