Ellen Lucey graduated from the Indiana University School of Public Health with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology in 1994. She was known for her competitive spirit and desire to bring people together while serving as captain of the IU swim team.
After moving into her first of three positions with the Coca-Cola Company, she began work as a Super Bowl host. As senior manager, she took on the challenge of connecting NASCAR fans with a new Coca-Cola experience.
She soon found herself standing backstage with a soon-to-be NBA All-Star. Before he had even played his first NBA game, she recruited LeBron James as the spokesperson for Sprite and POWERade. For the next 10 years, she and LeBron James transformed the Sprite brand with their winning combination of skill and swagger.
These experiences have brought her full circle back to collegiate athletics in her current role as Director of Corporate Relations with the NCAA where she oversees sponsorships, partnerships, marketing, and branding for all NCAA Championships. Now, in her “dream job,” she gets to combine two of her passions, sports marketing, and college athletics.
