David Skirvin is the former Assistant Dean of Facilities at Indiana University Bloomington, a role he assumed in 2020. He had a long and successful career, particularly at IU’s School of Public Health, starting back in 1986 when he worked as the Assistant to the Dean following his completion of undergraduate and master’s degrees from IU Bloomington. He later received his doctorate in higher education administration from IU’s School of Education and was named Assistant Dean for Administration in 2002. He has worked as an academic specialist, adjunct faculty member, and adjunct assistant professor. In 2003, Skirvin started teaching graduate level classes in sport finance, and public health finance and budgeting. In 2020, Skirvin received the E. Ross Bartley Award from Indiana University. This award is the highest staff award given by the president to a member of the administrative or support staff who demonstrates outstanding leadership, service, and professional accomplishment at the local, state, or national level.
