About Harlan D. Logan

Harlan Logan, the number two scorer in the Big Ten, led the Hoosiers back into contention after they opened the league season with losses at Ohio State and Illinois. The Hoosiers won seven games in a row, including a 39-36 win over Purdue that featured Logan's career-high 19 points, and a second-half comeback from 10 points down that beat Illinois, 30-24. Purdue ended the streak, 38-29, and Ohio state (11-1) won the championship.

Logan, a junior, was a first-team All-Big Ten pick. He would have been an All-America possibility as a senior, but he spent his senior year instead as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford. Logan scored 154 points for the full season. After his time at Oxford, Logan returned to Bloomington, and in 1930 became the school's first official tennis coach. He had lettered in tennis as a sophomore, and in track as a junior. He went on to be editor of Look magazine and speaker of the New Hampshire House of Representatives.
