Professor Scott Anderson graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a B.A. in economics and mathematics. He was a co-winner of the Moffat Award in the IUB economics department (1987). He was also the recipient of a Truman Scholarship in 1984.
Professor Anderson served in the Peace Corps in Nepal for two years (1988-90) before beginning his graduate study. He earned a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Chicago in 2002.
He was a visiting assistant professor in philosophy at SUNY in Albany, NY (2002-03). He was also a Law and Philosophy Fellow at the University of Chicago Law School (2007-08. Since 2003, he has been assistant professor in the Philosophy Department at the University of British Columbia.
