Tonja C. Eagan is a self-employed consultant who works with nonprofits that are striving for excellence in their operations. She has also served as the CEO of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central Indiana and as the CEO of Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis. She earned bachelor’s and MPAs degree from the IUPUI campus in 1990 and 1994, respectively.
Eagan’s support of IUPUI includes working as a fundraiser for a number of campus units, including the Center on Philanthropy and the School of Liberal Arts.
Known for her extensive efforts to provide mentoring experiences for students, Eagan is working to build an endowment fund for the annual Tonja Conour Eagan Faculty Service Award, which honors the most outstanding faculty mentor at IUPUI. The award was established in Eagan’s name in 1993, the year she received campus recognition for “service to IUPUI beyond the call of duty” for founding the IUPUI Student Mentor Program, which expanded to become the IUPUI Bepko Learning Center.
