About Glenn Arnold Ryker

Glenn Ryker was a businessman who worked in dental supplies. He worked for his family business, Ryker Dental Depot, which he joined after graduating from high school in 1938. Ryker worked his way up from errand boy in 1934 to president of Ryker Dental, Inc., retiring in 1983. He was the first dental supply person to be honored by the IU School of Dentistry Alumni Association in 1976 for his contributions to the dental profession. Ryker was active in numerous associations, including serving as the vice president of the Dental Dealers of America and committee member for the American Dental Trade Association.

Ryker was a WWII veteran, having served with the Air Technical Training Command of the Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1946. He was also active in his community, serving in various leadership positions at his church, as a member of the Southport Masonic Lodge 270, F. & A.M., the Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite, and a past member of the Murat Shrine. For many years, Ryker was a volunteer driver for the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
