About Archie Harris

Archie won football letters in 1938, 1939 and 1940 and won track letters in 1939, 1940 and 1941. As an end, led Big Ten in pass receiving in 1940 and was second team All-Big Ten. He won Big Ten indoor shot put title in 1940 and 1941 and set a world record in the discus in 1941 with a toss of 174-9 in winning the NCAA Championships. He also won U.S. National Championships in 1941 in the discus.
