- Kelley School of Business Distinguished Entrepreneur - 1980
Max Danner earned a B.S. in Business from Indiana University in 1947 and was president of Danners, Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was also the CEO, board chairman, and a major stockholder in the company that his father had established in 1910. Danner joined the company in 1940, and was elected president in 1962 and board chairman in 1974.
The Kelley School of Business gave Danner the Distinguished Entrepreneur Award in 1980. He passed away in 1985, and the company soon became defunct afterwards. The Max S. Danner Scholarship was established by his children in 1980 to recognize juniors or seniors in the Kelley School of Business who are studying entrepreneurship and who demonstrate achievement in all areas of campus life.
