Christine Beresniova, a doctoral student in the School of Education, traveled to Lithuania on a Fulbright grant.
She is researching tolerance education programs focusing on how teachers are prepared to interpret and teach about past events in Lithuania. The Holocaust and the Soviet occupation are used as teaching tools in tolerance education in Lithuania, and Beresniova is investigating how these events are presented in museums and schools and how local interpretations relate to national identity.
