John P. Murray was the former President/ CEO of The Atlantic Products Corporation, President/CEO of the Prince Tennis Corporation, and Chairman/CEO of Wilson Sporting Goods. He attended Indiana University after serving in the U.S. Navy in WWII, graduating in 1949. Murray served as a Director on the boards of a number of companies and philanthropic organizations including The New Jersey National Bank, CoreStates Financial Corporation, ChesebroughPonds Inc. and the Recording for the Blind where he served as National Chairman. He also was Director of The International Tennis Hall of Fame, The Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, The United States Tennis Association and The Golf Manufacturers Association. Due to his passion of golf, Murray was the founding president of the Bedens Brook Club in Princeton, NJ, and was a member of the Pine Valley Golf Club, Seminole Golf Club, and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews. Murray served as a Commissioner to the town of Jupiter Island, FL. He founded and led the Murray Foundation, whose focus is research to save sight and other medical interests.
Murray was inducted into the Kelley School of Business Academy of Alumni Fellows in 1988. He passed away in 2000.
