Dennis L. Andrews completed an A.S. in Criminal Justice at IUE in 1976. He earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice through IUPUI in 1979. He then served two terms as the sheriff of Wayne County, Indiana, and one term as Mayor of the City of Richmond, Indiana. Andrews then went on to complete a Master of Public Administration, and a Doctoral Degree in Education. In 1994, Andrews was inducted into the IU East Alumni Hall of Fame.
In 2000, after studying part-time at Earlham School of Religion, he accepted a grant to research and write for one academic year at the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
His vast knowledge has provided him with the opportunities to serve a diverse group of people.
