Mark Elliott is a 1972 graduate of the Kelley School of Business, with a major in marketing and a minor in economics. Mark’s generosity in support of the School and the IU Information Technology Services is enhanced by his membership on the Dean’s Advisory Council of the Kelley School and on the IT Advancement Council as well. Mark is general manager, Global ISV Solution Sales in IBM’s S&D Organization. It establishes the strategy and coordinates IBM’s complete span of activities which result in the sale and implementation of effective IT systems to help manage customer business processes. It includes customer relationship management, enterprise resource planning, supply chain management, business-to-business and e-business implementation. Prior to this appointment, Mark was general manager, IBM Europe/Middle East/Africa where he was responsible for IBM’s operations in more than 124 countries, with more than 90,000 employees and a combined revenue of $24.3 billion. Previously, he held a succession of executive appointments in IBM Global Services and IBM Software Group. IBM Software Group appointments held between 1994 and 1998 included vice president, software marketing; vice president, software, IBM Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA); and general manager, worldwide software sales and marketing. He joined IBM in 1970. Through his very generous support, IU is able to contribute to its ongoing efforts to meet the information technology needs of its students. He was pivotal in providing Indiana University with its “Big Red” super computer. His acts of philanthropy help sustain IU’s position as a national and global higher education leader in information technology.
