About Michael Auslen

Michael Auslen, of Arvada, CO, was a Herman B Wells Scholar and Ernie Pyle Scholar. He was a member of the Board of Aeons. Michael was an active member of the Indiana Daily Student, including as spring 2013 editor-in-chief and head of the newspaper’s investigations team, which he restarted. Previously, he served as managing editor, campus editor, region editor, and government/politics beat reporter. A member of Investigative Reporters and Editors and the Society of Professional Journalists, Michael served as president of the David L. Adams Memorial Chapter of the SPJ. Through the School of Journalism, he traveled to and studied in London, Beijing, and St. Petersburg, Fla., at the Poynter Institute. He has interned with USA TODAY, Dow Jones Newswires, and the Loveland Reporter-Herald.

He is currently working as a Pulliam Fellow at the Indianapolis Star.
