About Spencer T.S. Yang

Spencer T.S. Yang has a remarkable trajectory and influential scholarly work, both as a graduate student of political science at Indiana University Bloomington and as professor of political science at the Chinese Cultural University in Taiwan. He received the Leo Strauss Award for this dissertation, which is awarded by the American Political Science Association, further demonstrating his prowess and his skill in combining deep knowledge about China, property rights, and individual freedoms. He is a highly respected scholar by colleagues and continues to inspire future professionals in the field of political science.

In recognition of his outstanding efforts to advance the academic mission of IU, Yang was presented with the Distinguished International Service Award by Michael A. McRobbie in 2013.
