Najja Marshall graduated with majors in Physics and Mathematics and a minor in German. Marshall was a Herman B. Wells scholar from St. Louis. As an undergraduate, Marshall studied the dynamics of the brain by modeling neural networks as an undergraduate researcher at IU's Biocomplexity Institute. He also worked in the Beggs lab in IU's Research Experience for Undergrads (REU) program.
Outside of the classroom, Marshall was the Chapter President of Theta Chi fraternity and represented his fraternity in a national conference of Theta Chi chapters. He was also a member of the Physics Undergraduate Seminar and Journal Club as well as an officer of the Standards Board for Fraternity and Sorority life. Marshall also pursued artistic passions as the President of the IU Photography Society.
Following graduation, Marshall enrolled in the Doctoral Program for Neurobiology and Behavior at Columbia University.
