Maria Grace Ortuzar graduated with a double major in Economics and Political Science, with minors in Mathematics and Spanish Literature. Ortuzar was active on campus as a resident assistant in Eigenmann Hall as well as an Event Coordinator for the Union Board lecture series. Beyond her own academic pursuits, Ortuzar taught peers as a Microeconomics Teaching Assistant and did research on Latin America as a research assistant.
Ortuzar was also active in the Bloomington community and worked with the Community and Outreach Council to adopt a non-profit in Eigenmann Hall. While an undergraduate, Ortuzar gained international professional experience as an intern for the Office of Legislation and Congressional Affairs at the Ministry of Finance in Santiago, Chile. Additionally, she was an intern for the Secretariat for Legal Affairs at the Organization of American States in Washington, D.C.
