Kay Ikranagara completed a B.A. in Anthropology and M.A. in Linguistics, from the University of California, Berkley. She also earned a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1975. She has a wide array of professional experience, and has served as Executive Director at Indonesian International Education Foundation, in Jakarta, Indonesia; the Associate Director of the Center for International Education and Development Assistance at Indiana University Bloomington and the Director of Partnership Programs at Higher Education for Development in Washington DC. Her contributions have been notable and have impacted thousands of individuals, creating a more welcoming space for all.
In recognition of her diverse contributions to improving the programs of the IU Office of International Development, Ikranagara was presented with the Distinguished International Service Award by Michael A. McRobbie in 2015.
