Steven Ramos was a double major in business administration and accounting at Augustana College in 1978. He went on to complete an MBA at the University of Illinois in 1999. He went on to have a long career with IBM, where he held numerous management and leadership positions in worldwide strategy, sales support and customer relationship management. Most recently Ramos was the World Wide Business Transformation Executive at IBM Global Headquarters.
Following his passion to help in American education, Ramos became the Interim CEO for the National Society of Hispanic MBAs. He also served as the CEO for the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Currently, he is the CEO for Imagine and Discover, which promotes early childhood through higher education. Ramos actively serves on numerous Boards in Indiana and across America. He has served on the IUPUI Diversity Advisory Council, was appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels to the Indiana Civil Rights Commission in 2005, and received the 2007 Distinguished Hispanic/Latino Award from the Indiana Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs.
Ramos was recognized with a 2008 Spirit of Philanthropy Award from IUPUI for his work with Project Stepping Stone, preparing Latino youth for college. A founding member of the Indianapolis chapter of the National Society of Hispanic M.B.A.s, he developed programs to assist more than 5,000 Latino students stay in school and prepare for college. For nearly eight years, helped coordinate IBM National Engineering Week, promoting science, technology, engineering, and math to more than 20,000 Indiana eighth grade students.
