About Peter H. Leonard

Peter Leonard received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pittsburgh, a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Indiana University School of Dentistry, cum laude, and a Master of Science in Orthodontics from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. He was very active in community affairs, including service on the Boards of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce, the Boys Club, the United Way, the Bartholomew County Hospital Foundation Board, Kiwanis, and IUPU Columbus. He was President of the Bartholomew County Dental Society, the Indiana Society of Orthodontics, and the Indiana University Orthodontic Alumni Association.

Leonard served on the Advisory Board almost since its inception, served as its chairman, and offered invaluable advice as the campus has grown over the decades. He and his wife Alice have been staunch supporters of various programs of the campus, including the decade-long Breakfast with Scholars program and the “Dean’s Circle” speaking series.
