Roche Diagnostics is a diagnostic division of Hoffmann-La Roche which manufactures equipment and reagents for research and medical diagnostic applications. Internally, it is organized into five major business areas: Roche Applied Science, Roche Professional Diagnostics, Roche Diabetes Care, Roche Molecular Diagnostics and Roche Tissue Diagnostics.
All business areas except Roche Applied Science focus on health care applications, targeting either physicians, hospitals and clinics, or consumers. Applied Science targets research settings in academia and pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
Roche has helped IUPUI's School of Science reach out to Indianapolis youth by challenging thousands of area high school students to solve math problems creatively. The IUPUI Roche High School Mathematics Contest is a tool to motivate students and to encourage math learning in high school and again in college. Roche Diagnostics recognizes the importance of motivating students early and understands that students, by practicing math, will develop the analytical skills necessary for success in a complex, high-tech workplace.
