Czerwinski is a research manager and principal researcher of Microsoft's Visualization and Interaction (VIBE) Research Group. Her most recent research focuses on: emotion tracking and intervention design and delivery, information worker task management, and health and wellness for individuals and groups. Her background in research is in the area of visual attention and multitasking.
Czerwinski was the recipient of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction Lifetime Service Award and the Indiana University Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences' Distinguished Alumni Award. She is a member of the Computer-Human Interaction (CHI) Academy, and in 2010 became an ACM distinguished scientist. In 2016, Czerwinski was named a fellow of the ACM.
