Kate Hevner Mueller Outstanding Senior Award - 2018

About Sara D. Miller

Sara D. Miller is one of a select few to receive the Kate Hevner Mueller Outstanding Senior Award. With completion of her degree, she will begin a career in Journalism. Her activities and memberships at IU included: Indiana Daily Student, where she was Copy Chief; Hutton Honors Council Association; and Writing Tutorial Services. From January 2016 through August 2017, she served as Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at The Media School. During the summer of 2017, she completed an apprenticeship at Reuters News Agency where she spent more than five months collecting data from autopsies, police records and lawsuits for Reuter's special report on the more than 1,000 deaths that have occurred as the result of police using tasers.
